The Propak Vietnam 2023 exhibition and seminar series that recently took place in Ho Chi Minh City introduced many advanced packaging technologies. Many in-depth sharing sessions helped visitors gain more knowledge about expanded responsibility in the packaging industry, towards green growth, and reduce emissions.

ProPak Vietnam 2023 attracts the participation of more than 400 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and territories, mainly from developed and developing countries and territories such as the United States, Italy, Germany, France, Netherlands.

The products on display focus on packaging and processing technology; technology for the beverage and pharmaceutical industries; materials; cold supply chain, logistics, storage; coding, marking and labeling technology; printing technology; technology, laboratory instruments, testing and many other services.

Within the framework of the exhibition, there are also a series of international and technical seminars revolving around many aspects of the processing and packaging industry. A typical example is the International Conference program with the topic "Smart Packaging and Opportunities for Vietnam in the Asia-Pacific Region," organized by Informa Markets in conjunction with the Active & Intelligent Packaging Industry Association (AIPIA); and workshop "Food Security and Climate Change," co-organized by Vietnam Association of Food Science and Technology (VAFoST); and workshop "Regulating the extended responsibility of manufacturers under the Law on Environmental Protection: Opportunities for developing green - environmentally friendly packaging," coordinated by the Center for Services and Events of Natural Resources and Environment organization; or a seminar on the topic "Optimizing waste treatment and processing technology: Improving production efficiency and reducing environmental impact."

Packaging is one of the important industries in preserving, transporting and distributing goods. Mordor Intelligence reports that Vietnam's plastic packaging market is expected to grow from 10.07 million tons in 2023 to 15.09 million tons in 2028, with an average annual growth rate of 8.44% (2023 - 2028).

In particular, paper packaging is expected to achieve significant growth, from $2.37 billion in 2023 to $3.77 billion in 2028, with a CAGR of 9.73%. At the same time, packaging for the food and beverage industry continues to occupy a significant market share.

This poses the problem of balancing economic and environmental benefits for traditional companies, while creating many new opportunities for other businesses.
